Joint event in Scotland: activities program

DORNA will development the atlantic maritime heritage with different activities both at sea and on land

During the 14th and 15th of August, the port of Millport (Isle of Cumbrae) will welcome thousands of visitors who can enjoy all kinds of activities related to maritime cultural tradition of the Atlantic coast. These activities will take place at sea and on land.

Among the activities taking place offshore are: skiff races, boat races, rowing between Galician, Basque, N. Irish and Scottish traditional boats, parade of sail, "Come and Try" – Cumbrae Watersports Centre or raft race.

On land we can see boat building, oar making, wood carving and timber milling and visit Exhibition – Traditional Boat Building in Scotland. Other activities: pottery, basket weaving, spinning & weaving. There will be music from Albannach, the Nectarines, the Basque crew and more... There will also be activities specifically aimed at children.

Stands and workshops let you know the reality of the Atlantic maritime heritage and the actions undertaken by the project DORNA to its development.
